[ 1054. Steamboat ]
A homely affair, a minimal gathering. Some shopping at ntuc, picked up some people and off to bo's place we headed. Preparation didn't take long, it's juz cutting and marinating, and preparing pre-mixed soup bases for the steamboat. Fatest dinner prep i ever did.
7pm sharp. Dinner time. Bowen panicked. There was no extension cord in his place for him to position the steamboat on his dining table. The nearest plug was near, but yet too far. Army guys, being army guys, of course sergeants has taught us that there's always a solution for everything. We moved the garden table near the plug instead. Table was at an awkward position, but who cares. ;)
Dinner was good. No, it's not the food alone. The homely kind of gathering, i like. The reunion of this group, set aside in a quiet residential area for a quiet birthday celebration for this girl whom we missed so dearly. Most people were touched. It was very fruitful. I never saw conversations flowing so freely during dinner times. Not even during those post service dinners. I'm pretty sure i enjoyed it thoroughly. As well as enghow. Aaron. Bowen. Joseph. And of course the birthday girl, sharon.
Bo's dad served us wine and food, food and food while we gathering around his wall-mounted 42" plasma tv watching left behind 2. I'm probably a lil tipsy to fully understand the story though. A lil help in differentiating between all the blonde actresses would help greatly, the joke that we were cracking during showtime. A lil wine, a lil beer, a lil pot, a lil chocs. That's the essential ingredients for a spare tyre dudes. Don't try it too often. But often enough to give you that occasional enjoyment. Muahahaha. We gladly made use of the cake to celebrate sharon's birthday as well. The quietest ever song sung, the quickest birthday prayer made. But it's the most sincere and warming one ever. We love you sista!
