[ 1053. Ding Dong Merrily On High ]
Finally, merry xmas everyone. Finato. Carols finally ended. Though not with a bang, but with a feeling of remembrance that lingered on in most people. After the usual carol session today, people were simply lounging in the hospitality lounge where we were held before and after the sessions, lazing there as we indulged in the dinner snacks and free flow water, tea or coffee. Exchanged usual stupid table games with those jc kiddos boys guys, as well as had those lil coffee table chats with some people as well.
One interesting note though, nelson came down to watch us thrice in the five days. And i heard that he only saw consort once thru last year. Wonder how come he placed so much emphasis on consort this year. Hohummm.
Just wanna talk about some trivial matters here. Little incidents sparked pretty wild and wandering thoughts in me today. First up was jeffrey. He told us that he won't be coming on monday, or anymore for that matter (if i heard him correctly) and i was like thinking, probably today would be the last time i ever saw him again in my entire life. Probably he'd just end up as another guy who've i've met in my life before and i happily chuck at the back of my memories, alongside with hundreds others that i've met back in school, in church or whatsoever. It's really interesting to note how many people can you actually meet in your lifetime, and if you actually do stop and try remembering names of people you've met and knew before, probably you're gonna need more than a piece of foolscap.
Which brings me to another point. Many a times i'll see familiar faces on the bus, on the train, on the streets, on the roads. I can even put names to some of them. Isn't it scary how come we always see familiar faces? Cuz singapore is simply too small. Everywhere we go, we see people. Just that day when i was having dinner with the usm3 guys at suntec, i met like 4 friends while walking from city hall to suntec. You'll never fail to be amazed at the number of people you know.
I went on the join my guys after leaving the hospi lounge, and they decided to move towards indochine at wisma to check out the live band there, and god knows who gave them the darn illusion that the streets "weren't as cluttered with people as it has always been." crrraaaaapppppp. Barely halfway there (a.k.a heeren), tom already had to open up his umbrella so that we could see that prominent landmark to link-up, of course, at the expense of tom who had to be the clown for the day. Lucky for us there's a table in indochine for us, but apparently jo was more interested in sitting right in front of the band rather than settle at the table beside. Though there was no view la. I'm personally against the idea of counting down in orchard. Like andy commented, you'll probably ended up squeezing with people on the streets, and kena molested by certain overenthusiastic individuals. I'd very much prefer a small and cozy gathering, and we can just talk and chill out over a movie, coffee, food at someone's place instead of doing mindless countdowns at wild parties where you're more into the party than the significance of the countdown. But as i felt that i've unfortunately stepped on jo's tail for the past couple of weeks, i decided to just sit through the entire event till just before midnight, where i'll do my disappearing act and get home before the mad rush on our already stressed mrt.
Now i'm sitting in front of my computer, chewing on a piece of choc bread with my 3-in-1 coffee, and nursing a runny nose with 2 piriton pills and piles of tissue paper. This isn't exactly the christmas i have in mind, but at least i'm not feeling displaced.
