gone.
will i be back?
i don't know.
maybe i've started elsewhere.
maybe never. again.

[ 1011. Flying ]
I'm flying in exactly 15 days' time. I'm scared.
This trip's gonna be longer than my signal course. Summore cannot 'book out' one. (i meant, go home.) Must manage my finances well, must take care of myself, must make sure that i don't fall sick, must make sure that i don't kill some-ting, etc, etc, etc.
I'm actually worried about my driving test this friday. Yes, i'm having my driving test this friday. I'm like thinking how i shouldn't fail it cuz i don't wanna waste money. And suddenly something just dawned upon me as enghow messaged me. I remembered someone said this before, there's not point in seeing your problem as a huge stone, cuz as long as God is around, it's only a small grain of sand.
Well, i believe that He can make curbs disappear! Hahah. =p
Aye aye. Pray for me peeps. And let God make his own plans.

[ 1009. Duty Week ]
Duty, duty, duty.
Before i start on anything else, i should give a really big thanks to terry who was sweet enough to take over me a good half hour earlier so that i could go home and sleep instead of staying in for the night. Thanks dude, i owe you one.
Well, well. This week has been a hectic week. Tired out. Duty every day. Well, almost. Considering that the only day i didn't had any shift was wednesday. Haha. (Gee i wonder where i still got my joy to laugh like that. Hoo hum.) In fact, i have another twelve hour slot on sunday. Goodness gracious me.
I hurt my back while doing ippt today. Up to now, my back is still aching. But thanks to eugene eric and elvin (the triple E's) for their massage. Haha. And i'm beginning to feel that i'm falling sick again. darn. I really, really hate that feeling. Especially on a friday where i'm gonna blast my weekend again. Sharks.
I need a good rest. Hopefully no one bugs me tomorrow.

[ 1008. Duty Galore ]
Yesterday i'm on irf duty; now i'm on ops room duty. Well well.
Whenever i don't have enough rest, i tend to get moody, and lots of thoughts rush through my mind.
Reflections, reflections. Will we be better off without reflecting on our actions? will reflections bring us guilt and regrets?
Saturday was a labourous day. 7 men, packing all 50 crates or so and moving them into the container. There were a few things that i knew i did that wasn't really pleasing to Him. Maybe it's my sensitive nature, maybe it's really meant to be that way. Someone just gave me the feeling that he was picking on me. Maybe it's incident-specific, but i chose to take it personally. By the end of the day, coupled with tiredness and the pathetic fact that i had duty the following day, my mood was more fouled when the drivers chose to rest and chit-chat in the mess while the bunch of us waited for what seemed like eternity.
I was hoping to go home first, before grabbing all my book-in stuff and heading down for aaron's birthday celebration. As the minutes ticked, my plans were slowing eroding away, and not to mention, i was suppressing my frustration and anger within myself. There's no way i'm gonna explode like i always do. It's not fair for others to bear the brunt of it. If there were any signs of my frustration, it'd be the really, really solemn face and quiet nature then.
I'm glad that i didn't explode. I really can't imagine the ugly scene if i had. And i wonder if He was testing me or further or what, i had to encounter a taxi-driver who brought me on a wild goose ride in the wrong direction of the expressway. God's stretching my tolerance, i'm telling you.
But well, i can't comprehend why was i feeling so frustrated back then. Was it because of my tiredness that the carnal nature had to reveal itself, or was it right to do what i did? Someone pray tell.
My mood took a total uplift when i met my cell. It seemed so long since i last saw them, and i could say that i was grinning from ear to ear with i saw the whole bunch of them, and having dinner together. Apart from saving lots of food for me, i was just so naturally felt so refreshed by talking to them alone, though physically tired. Even had coffee with bowen and enghow after dinner, till i reached home shortly after midnight. Once again i realized how much these bros meant to me. Those smses, those words of encouragement, i guess it's part of the evidence of his love.
I haven't had a good rest since saturday night. As you could have guessed. Even last night i had to help dick take one of his sentry shifts cuz he had to drive today. Even though elvin and i decided to take half hour, the guard comd decided that i'll do the entire hour, and elvin was nice enough to accompany me on the second half of the hour, complete with sbo, beret and rifle. Though i was half tempted to ask him to go back, i welcomed the company totally. Thanks dude. Kind of selfish of me though. Gee.
I have like 3 weeks to complete the magazine. I'm done with only 2 years as of now. I really, really need His grace in this. And pray that i'd have a good rest tonight.

[ 1007. Friday Night ]
Well. So fast, so fast, it's friday night already. And tomorrow will be the 2nd saturday in a row that i have to work on a saturday, without compensation. Never mind.
Well, i guess it's safe to whine here. In summary, there has been a lot of hiccups in this packing. To quote barry, we have religiously planned every contingency plan, and unfortunately used almost all of them as well. The ideal packing timeline would be as this:
collecting stores >>> test them >>> clean them >>> divide them >>> pack them
upon packing, we'd need the aussie authorities to come and inspect the crates and containers before we could send them for shipping to australia. Aussie laws are pretty tough on this, to protect their agriculture. You have to applaud them for keep their breeds pure and almost disease-free, but it does implicate people like us on a large scale, especially since this is gonna be a yearly affair.
Apparently, after we thought we finished the packing saga, we'd have a easy inspection and thereafter load the crates into the container. But well, the aussie inspector came and shook his head. Apparently they wanted everything out of the crates and bubble wrap, not in them. We almost fainted, and well, every other guy on the team was cursing that aussie after he left. With other issues like clearance matters and time constraints, we'd no choice but to have him come again tomorrow instead. That explains the burning of my second weekend.
Well, i realize time is running short. And i still have a magazine to complete in three weeks time. I wonder how. Really.

[ 1005. Leadership ]
I'm blogging from home, and not the darned 113 sqn that i've been calling my second home for these couple of weeks. Recently it's been a rare entity that i could reach home this early, and by jolly, today was the earliest since last week. Nights and nights have been burned (unneccessarily) for, well, stuff. I shan't elaborate.
Lionel mentioned over our dinner at fish and co that in the saf, only two kinds of leadership exists: one that conforms, and another won over by respect. Apparently, we seems to be working under the former. But well, most departments are working under the former, even in the civil society. Just that because the command is necessary, the rank and hirarchial system has to be enforced, to the delight of some and to the terror of many many more, especially conscripts like you and me.
Case close. I shall stop at the generics here and leave the specifics to my bitching sessions in camp.

[ 1003. Birthday Celebrations ]
Long overdued photos. Well, all that packing made me sleepless (literally), much less doing all these photos.

lunch at nydc was simply fantastic. I remembered. It's been a long time since i can indulge in such sinful food without feeling so guilty. Hahaha. =)

this year's dinner, like i mentioned, was with a smaller group. But i really love this bunch of dudes so much.... you know they actually recorded their birthday messages on an mp3 player for me to hear? What novelty!

And of cuz... the day must end sweetly... so we went for ice-cream lor!

[ 1002. Sick ]
It's the third time i had fever this year already. Hmmm.
Yesterday while i was doing OT at plab, i suddenly had this fever and bouts of diarrhoea that sent me feeling cold, weak and aching all over. Didn't feel like going off alone, and since i could still walk and talk, i reckoned i was fine. I even attend hans' concert that night.
Well, in the middle of the night, my temp shot up to 38.6 deg. Mom was worried, but i told her that i'll wait till morning before going to my usual doctor for a consultation. Thankfully, after some panadol i was feeling better in the morning, though i was still running a fever.
Went for consort prac today anyway, cuz i'd have to give it a miss next week due to duty. Well.
That concludes my weekend.

[ 1001. Learning Driving ]
I said it once and i'm gonna say it again: i HATE it when the blogger window pops back at my face when it finishes loading. Especially when i'm typing my password for msn. It's just-freaking-rude-and-irritating.
Today was my first time that i took lessons at ubi, and the roads are like. woah. crowded. Crowded never mind. The drivers (licensed ones, that is) are freaking rude as well. As a learner driver in a learner driver infested area, you ought to know that traffic will be freakin slow moving. And you still had to SOUND YOUR FREAKIN HORN JUST BECAUSE I MADE A LEFT TURN ON GEAR ONE RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU. Grrrrr. You were once a 'L' platee also ok? Case closed.
Today we did a run before our daily packing routine. Well, after that 'horrendous' run, which though was like 2.4 at jogging pace, the first half of the morning was wasted. My mood was first fouled up by my lack of sleep over the past few days. Coupled with the late breakfast that came at the same time as lunch, i decided to twang the day away and went to take a quick nap after lunch. But my rest was short-lived. I was like wokened up rudely and told to move more stores. And after that, task after task just came in, and the weary me just grit my teeth and just went on with it......... argh. And msg cheng just went on 'ngiam-ing' abt our quality of work today... i mean, in the first place the organisation was really bad already. With everyone cooped up in their own office doing their own 'part', there's no supervision of any sort and the worst thing is: no one has a full picture of the entire thing now. Stores have yet to fully come in, and when new radio stores come in again, we have to restart the entire procedure of testing, cleaning, arranging, sorting and recording again. well. so much for saf.
Andie brought me out for dinner last night... it was this buffet at marine parade suki sushi! Muahahaha... it was FANTABULOUS! That's the only word to sum it up i guess. Though it's more japanese food than anything else, i have to say that the variety was wide enough - teppanyaki, seafood (oysters etc), sushi, sashimi, free flow drinks - for anyone to feel full after just a sample of everything. Oh my god... and i just filled myself with oysters and mussels galore! hahahaha.... too bad, there wasn't the coconut ice cream that andie was talking about... but well, their rum and raisin is tok-gong enough! Muahahaha...
Okie.. i'm off to dinner... tata...

[ 998. Dinner Plans ]
Yeah, dinner plans were 'upsetted' today since my 'date' couldn't make it. Hahaha. Guess what? i ended up with two 'dates'!
Lolx~ yeah, after our team meeting that ended at 9pm, lionel calvin and i headed down to geylang lor 9 for its famous beef kuey teow. And yes, it's still damn delicious sia! It's been a year since i last went there for the kuey teow, firstly because of my time, but also because of its accessibility. Geylang may be a good supper spot, but it's damn hard to get there on public transport at times, especially if you're not so sure about the buses. haha. We even popped by next door for the (also) famous beancurd and along with xiaolong baos and you tiaos. That's like, even far longer back in history since i last stepped there. Mostly due to me not being a big fan of beancurd and soyabean milk. Hahaha. Well, but decided to it a try today nonetheless since i've on cloud nine. Lalalaa...
One more hour... ;)

[ 997. Midday Break ]
These couple of days of packing, cleaning, sorting and accounting at 113 is not easy. When you have tens and tens and tens of radios and hundreds of parts lying around, you are bound to lose something somehow.
Well, it's a tad worse than my ex vhf ii back at si. Actually last time because my store ic was practically missing in action.
Ok, i take it back. It's ten times worse now.
Haha, yeah, but i'm not complaining. It's a change in environment for now.
Awww... my 'date' tonight got cancelled. Sads. But never mind la. Haha, people sick mah. Lolx. Her bf better take good care of her eh. Lolx.
Gee. I'm waiting for lunch.................

[ 996. Superstar ]
Kelly looked like a princess today. kelly is a princess today. A popstar princess.
Gosh, she is so full, so all-round and such a wonderful stage performer. Slow songs, fast number, tricky beats, weird melodies. You name it, she did it in all five songs. Even taufik's performance wasn't so remarkable during singapore idol. But then again, i heard that taufik wasn't even the best singer in that lot. Well. For once i realized there's so many good lookers around in this superstar series. And kelly proved to be the most talented of the lot. It was really not a mistake to pick her from rejects in prelim rounds.
Think that kelly has the makings of a diva, somewhat akin to coco lee's type. Yes, she's a big fan of coco lee, and she can really carry her songs well. So much so that people actually associate 'mei li ben nu ren' with her rather coco lee. So much so that the judges favoured her over kelvin in most segments today. It'd be nice to see her crowned, but i guess it didn't really matter after all: she's princess to many, now that she's secured a contract with universal.
Aye aye, kelly's my new idol!
