[ 941. Endex Summary ]
Yeah, i've been on merlion land for nearly 24 hours by now. Spent a couple of hours at the airport with my dear cg until about 3, before derek sent me home. Then the jetlagged me couldn't get to sleep, so decided to unpack my stuff and log on for a while before resigning to the zzz monster at 6am. Woken up by ssg suresh's call at about 11am, before realizing that i've got no program today. Jioed guanda out for a movie, and was supposedly meeting gary to pass him the cds with his photos inside. Alas, i forgotten to bring the cds out, but met him, derek and tuanhong for yet another movie anyway. Hahaha. Too deprived of entertainment when i was in canada eh. Lolx. Movie tix are so darn ex over in canada.
Watched initial d and wars of the world today. Wasn't quite enthusiastic about watching initial d actually, but since i was too tired to counter suggest, and there were simply too much hype about the movie, so i decided to try it anyway. Turns out to be quite a tasteful movie. Storyline was short and simple, a bit too much of a lala land story. Well, thankfully there isn't as much car racing as i thought it'd contain. I'm not a car fan anyway. Lolx. Wars of the world was better, i thought. Any steven spielberg classic. Boy, i wonder how he always get those destruction scenes done. Must have cost a lot eh. Hahahaha. To think gary fell asleep during the movie! Hahaha. Anyway... It's kind of similar to 28 days. except there isn't so much gore. And a bit too much of the good guys always prevail kind of thing. Hahaha.
Wanted to blog about my trip experiences. But kind of procrastinating since i'm still recovering from the jet lag from the return trip. think the return trip is taking more of a toil than the forward trip. Somehow i wonder why too. There's many things i wanna talk about. About how i left everything behind and for once, really enjoyed myself in a trip, considering all the disasters i had in previous overseas trips. Hahaha. I was initially kind of apprehensive on going on this trip just days before taking off. Had some unpleasant encounters with bso over the past weeks, though now i guess our relationship has been reduced to purely diplomatic. Given that i ran into two separate accidents in the previous trips i went upon with my school, i was afraid history would repeat itself and marred my trip again. Thankfully, nothing of the sort happened, apart from the food poisoning that struck me on the second day. I guess i have to thank god for healing me so quickly, as compared to ben who only came up and running three days after the incident. Also, I was uncertain about how i'd gel with the operators that i'd be spending quite a fair bit of time with too. But they turned out to be a friendly bunch, or at the very least, that's what i saw for the last 2.5 weeks i spent with them.
Nothing really unpleasant happened during the trip, except for a couple of minor incidents of either misunderstandings or just insensitive rank remarks made by some people. For example, someone told me, "what are you doing here looking around? look around here, everyone here is so much higher rank than you. Go find the others!" No names mentioned, but it's totally insensitive i guess. Didn't want to quarrel with him again, so i simply walked off to join the operators. At least they're more accepting. Yeah.
Personality differences is pretty obvious in the nine operators, though i daresay that they gel pretty well together. Perhaps it's like any other group, people either become very good friends or enemies when they go through something together. Eugene told me that they do have their weaknesses and ugly nature as well, which i can't disagree, but generally they are a funloving cooperative and team spirited workers. I have to say that i might have gotten a bit too oversensitive (it's like so me) and let my thoughts flowed a bit too much, but i guess they are nevertheless the main source of my companionship and fun for the duration of the exercise. Thanks dudes. Shan't forget this experience. ;)
Elvin's posted down to ops room. And why did i choose to mention that, cuz i thought the possibility of myself going down to ops room was pretty high since i was there before. And with all the increasing politics in the ops room, and also my working relationship with ssg ow and brian, i really can't imagine how it'd turn out if i was posted there again. No doubt it'd be a flattering posting, but this kind of flattery i can do without. Contrastly, i'd rather stay with the platoon, with my friends that i have known pretty well, and do the things they do instead of playing bows arrows and shields everyday. Diplomacy is not exactly my cup of tea, and hence i know where i should head.
Well well. Think i've blabbered enough. Let's see what more photos i can put up. Tata for now.
